BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Bring it, Rocky!


I am looking forward to Wrestlemania when The Rock hosts pro wrestling's biggest event. I thought that his return to Monday Night Raw was electrifying (as if I needed to say that). What an ovation! How long did it take -- over five minutes before the crowd settled down? And am really looking forward to the People's Champ laying the smackdown on the Miz and John Cena. I am a fan of Cena but the storyline involving a battle royale the People's Champ and the Champ is intriguing. 

I haven't been following pro wrestling that much in the last few months but with the Brahma Bull back -- this one I gotta watch.
