BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Coming in the next issue of Rebound

We're on Year Three of Rebound magazine! Imagine that. So far we've released six issues for an average of three a year. But if things work out, we might do a fourth issue. That all depends on sales of course.  In the meantime, we're looking for new writers and we want you to know that we are looking for substance-old-school-let's-hunt-down-a-good-story-type-writers over the wikipedia-writers. Email them to Brew so we can forward them to the editorial staff.

The next issue is the college hoops 2011-12 preview. Stuff I am going to be working on for the next issue of Rebound magazine: team previews on the UE Red Warriors, UST Growling Tigers, Arellano University Chiefs, and the NCAA 10th team (Trinity, Lyceum or PCU); a feature on transferees, revisiting Smart Gilas, and my column From the Parking Lot.

Incredibly, the two best selling issues we've had featured the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles. In case you all want to know, the De La Salle Green Archers are on the cover for the next issue.
