BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. Chicago Hope

A most thrilling series. The last time the Chicago Bulls went into a 3OT period it was against the Phoenix Suns in 1993. They lost that game. Now it squares things but the Bulls are not out of the woods yet because in the two previous playoff series they met (84 & 85) they lost.

Now if Derrick Rose and company will win on the road then they will be one up on Michael Jordan who never beat Boston in the playoffs. Yes, I know he had a bunch of drug addicts for teammates at that time but still...
