BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Wanna watch the greatest football player ever for FREE?

Hey, ya'll! I would like to find out if there are any football fans out there who would like to watch a feature film of the great Pele for FREE.

The movie is titled Pele Eterno (translated it means PELE FOREVER) and was directed by Anibal Massaini Neto and runs for two hours! Unfortunately it's in Portuguese with no subtitles. But by watching the film we're going to understand it anyway by taking a look at the action. If I can get a crowd of at least 20 fans out there then we're going to do this at Fully Booked High Street and admission is FREE. We, meaning myself and the Brazilian Embassy hope to do this after the World Cup. The important thing is to get the numbers. So those who are interested please email me.

Obrigado!
