BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. Look, Muffy! A book for us!

Winning with ease and losing with grace. Lacrosse, squash, crew, and field hockey. The sailing scene, flotillas, regattas, yachts and yacht clubs. The sporting life. Tally Ho!

Given the Prep fondness for turning any routine event into an occasion, many athletic competitions became social events.

This was real popular back then and I still have my copy of it. First edition too! Bwahaha. And this is one priceless memento of my youth!
