BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Nike unveils the USA Men's Olympic Hockey jerseys for Sochi



Check out the new USA Olympic hockey jerseys that were unveiled today. They will be used in the Sochi (Russia) Olympiad. Pittsburgh head coach Dan Bylsma is the head coach and will feature some very talented-American born players: Ryan Miller, Jonathan Quick, Keith Yandle, Justin Faulk, Kevin Shattenkirk, Patrick Kane, Zach Parise, Dustin Brown, and John Carlson to name a few. 

Kinda like the retro look of the jersey. That means now I gotta get me one. All the photos by the way are from Nike.


The nape area indicates the gold medals won in 1960 and 1980. While there's the inscription of 'Land of the Free. Home of the Brave."
