BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Briefing Nite for our Gatorade Athletes (pics & video)


We held a briefing for our Gatorade athletes for 2013 last night at our offices at BGC. Check out the athletes: G Elite: LA Tenorio (Barangay Ginebra), Chieffy Caligdong (Green Archers United), James and Phil Younghusband (Loyola), Ani De Leon-Brown, and Calvin Abueva (Alaska). For our G Rising Stars, we have college basketball players RR Garcia (FEU) and Jeric Teng (UST) who hold the distinction for being with us now for four years. Jeron Teng (La Salle). Newbies Juami Tiongson (Ateneo), Henry Asilum (UP), Jericho Cruz (Adamson), and Jean Mbe (National University). Triathlete Nikko Huelgas and volleyball players Aby Maraño and Mika Reyes (La Salle) and Denden Lazaro and Alyssa Valdez (Ateneo).


Chieffy was a riot!
