BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Tennis/football with Rafa Nadal & Cristiano Ronaldo & an old version with the Azkals

Love the Nike advert of Rafa Nadal and Cristiano Ronaldo playing a game of tennis and football. It's a unique skills drill that helps with passing and coordination. In the video below (that I shot on December 16, 2012 at the Sultan Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia), the Philippine Men's Football National Team make a game of it. The first few minutes feature some interviews with Aly Borromeo and Phil Younghusband heading into that first leg match with Indonesia in the 2010 Suzuki Cup. Hope you like this outtake. Sure miss doing this with the national team.
