Adam Morrison revival

I do love a good story. One that hopefully will have a great ending. You know -- success, falls down and short, rises up and achieves something? It's cliche-ish but it still is relevant because it's something we can understand and deal with on a cyclical basis. Coming from a Jesuit school, I follow the athletic programs of brother schools in the United States such as Georgetown and Loyola Marymount. In fact, I wrote about it years ago on ateneo.edu in an article titled Heaven is a Playground. But it wasn't until John Stockton put Gonzaga in the map did I follow the basketball team from Washington. While the Bulldogs didn't have those blue chippers who usually went to UNC, Duke, or some other big program they did get better with players like Ronny Turiaf, Dan Dickau, Austin Daye, Richie Frahm (who played as an import here in the Philippines and was a part of the first ever NBA Asia Challenge), and Josh Heytvelt to name a few. And of course, there was Adam Morrison. Yep, his career hasn't been much and he's been labeled a bust. Prematurely or not, true or not, I do root for him to succeed. And who knows? Just maybe this time he'll get a break with Portland. Hope he is given proper playing time. Now here's something I wrote for nba.com titled Break On Through the Other Side.
