BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Real Madrid pics post-Athletic Bilbao win


The man is simply a winner. He's won domestic league titles in Portugal (two with Porto), England (two with Chelsea), Italy (two with Intermilan), and now Spain (Real Madrid). Now people will forget the eyepoke or they won't? But Los Blancos won their 32nd La Liga title so maybe. But for Mourinho, success comes in twos. It's way too early but will Real Madrid repeat? If anyone can, Mourinho can do it.


Benzema, Varane, Ozil, Khedira, and Sahin are all smiles! Benzema has now won with both Lyon and Real Madrid. As for Pepe... hey, I want that shirt.
