BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

LaComeback for Lamar


Lamar Odom is reportedly pulling the plug on his reality TV show "Khloe & Lamar" to concentrate on his return to basketball. Guess he was inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers win (and not Dallas’ loss). And check this out.

The kicker here is this – the television people on E! are trying to convince the couple to reconsider. Hmm.

My take is this – a) Odom was indeed keeping up with the Kardashians. Kim dumped Kris Humphries (of the New Jersey Nets) while Lamar forced his way to get dumped by the Dallas Mavericks. Life really does imitate television; and b) maybe the Players Union can convince Lamar to reconsider cashing those undeserved paychecks from Dallas.
