Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Back Four Bums Podcast Episode #12 Live with the Loyola Meralco Sparks in Singapore

We have not done a podcast in about two months. But we're back with a vengeance. Bob and Ebong recorded in Manila while Cedelf and I recorded here in Singapore. We're in the Lion City for the 2012 Singapore Cup and we're with the Loyola Meralco Sparks. We recorded on Thursday morning at the hotel lobby. The podcast got cut short. That means we will do another one here!

With Vince Santos, assistant coach of the Sparks.

Midfielder Davide Cortina joins us and he also talked about Master Kim's fashion sense.

Interviewing 'team manager' Belay Fernando (above) who also plays for the Malditas and once upon a time with the Ateneo Women's Football Team; and (below) Pat Ozaeta and Anto Gonzales.

In the photo below, Simon Greatwich (not in the picture) talks about playing hard-to-get. Hahaha. We're with Phil Younghusband and Gabby Borja.

Read about Day One with the Sparks here and the match preview with Geylang United.
