I work for GroupM and I write for ateneo.edu, Business Mirror, Rebound, Philippines Free Press, and inthezone.com.ph. I also teach in Ateneo de Manila. On occasion, I do some work for some sports broadcasts on television. My blog Bleachers' Brew serves as a hub for many of my writings (but not all as there are some that are exclusive). When I still have time, I do non-sports work that involves the environment or travel.

You'll Never Walk Alone
Habibi by Craig Thompson
Habibi is impressive to hold. It looks like a lost tome, recovered from a different time and place--a fitting package for a comic book that feels like an exotic, bizarre fairy tale. Craig Thompson's ink work is bold yet intricate. Each page reveals a meticulous symmetry, both in art and narrative that unravels a sweeping tale that takes readers from the dessert to an industrial wasteland to the inner walls of a harem.
CDs in my collection: Desolation Town by The Secret History
Desolation Town by the Secret History is its own entity, beginning to end, while begging the wish fulfillment of the next, longer release. The sound is ‘80s pop with hints of British ‘90s alternative guitar rock. It’s soulful without capitalizing on the current retro fashion.
DVDs in my collection: 24/7 Penguins/Capitals Road to the NHL Winter Classic
You too often hear that professional athletes don’t care as much as the fans do when the team struggles. That’s not the case here at all. These guys live and die by how things go on the ice and witnessing it up close, warts and all, thrills us. We want and crave more of it and right now, with there only being three more episodes of this to watch we’re going to eat this up and love every bit of it.
Bleachers' girl of the week: Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Magazines: Fortune, Discovery Channel magazine, Sports Illustrated, and World Soccer. Sorry there's nothing I like locally. All this high brow shit written by the same old people.
Comic books: The Ultimates, Captain America, and Daredevil.
Other stuff that I like but is no longer around: Nexus, The Rocketeer, Sandman Mystery Theater, Starman, Big Bang Comics, Promethea, Tom Strong, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,
At Yankee Stadium
After I watch a game in Anfield then I can die a happy man.
