BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Alaska Aces Meet & Greet

Went to the Meet & Greet with the Alaska Aces at Robinson's Galleria this afternoon at 4pm. Mike Burtscher rapped while Tony dela Cruz did his boom box impression. Joe Devance showed some dance moves and Bonbon Custodio said he didn't believe in the triangle offense. Joke on the last one!!! Hahaha. But Tim Cone did say that Paolo Bugia, Hans Thiele, and Bonbon were learning the triangle. Hahaha.

The Alaska player who probably got the most number of photo ops? Sam Eman! For real. LA Tenorio and Tony dela Cruz got their photo ops but Sam... woo hoo. And Tim Cone announced that it's official that Topex Robinson is making the transition to coaching. Good luck, Topex!
