BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The new adidas Star Wars stuff

The new collection from adidas originals pays tribute to Han Solo in Carbonite, Chewbacca, C3PO, R2D2, Boba Fett, and Jabba the Hutt. I still wear my Stormtrooper superstar kicks (sparingly coz while I love the shoe it's expensive so it's not an everyday thing) and am looking to get a shirt or jacket. The "Super Death Star" looks cool? But I guess, it doesn't fit me for my age so... Hey, the Stormtrooper helmet is not included!

Tomorrow, Friday, me and my buddy Ton Gatmaitan will be buying some kicks. Will document that. Either I get meself some Nike basketball shoes or the new adidas Barricade. I love tennis shoes.
