BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Halikinu Radio Episode 13

Half of the 13th episode of Halikinu Radio was devoted to messages and discussions on Typhoon Ondoy. show producers Ralph and Trina were severely affected while hosts Chuck and myself were hard hit too. We tried to keep it bouncy and light rather than be down. It was also a relief with the change of topic although basketball was fun too. Nice win by the Blue Eagles. In the top photo, its Ralph, Mhel, Papadom (aka Dominic Gamboa who is also from Ateneo) and myself. Below it's Ralph and Trina. Martin was lead host for tonight is not in these pics but Mhel or Ralph should have with the entire group. Thanks to the following people for the help during Ondoy: Robin Tong, Gerry Esquivel, Sonia Araneta, Jill Campo, AR Ticzon, Eki Cardenas, and Mike Valencia.
