BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

UAAP Season 72 Elimination Round Final Standings

Final Rankings after Elimination Round


1) Ateneo 13-1
2) FEU 11-3
3) UE 10-4
4) UST 6-8
5) AdU 5-9
6) DLSU 5-9
7) NU 3-11
8) UP 3-11




The reason why UP fell all the way to 8th place after staying away from it was their loss to NU in the first round where the Bulldogs had a higher win margin.

Adamson and La Salle will qualify for the wild card berths for the Champions League. The Falcons will be competing in the Cebu leg qualifiers while the Green Archers will be in Naga (for what will be an easier bracket).
