BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Halikinu Radio Episode 9

It's the first time in three weeks that we had the entire crew complete for the show. That crummy sked for the Ateneo Blue Eagles does make it difficult to discuss games considering the last match was on a Sunday making it relatively stale and the next one is on a Sunday again and still a few days apart. To the host school, the way the schedule was drafted is terrible and for the conspiracy-minded, it's malicious. We had Mico Halili and Lia Cruz on board. Olsen Racela couldn't make it.
It was great to have Mico Halili and Lia Cruz back. There's so much to talk about and one hour just breezes by and it's over before you know it. It didn't help that we had all this shameless and blatant self-promotion. Bwahahaha. Some may wonder why we chose to tackle the Japeth Aguilar issue. Well, he is a former Ateneo Blue Eagle and it is quite a huge and sensitive topic.

Yesterday was a tiring day. Semi-okay naman but am grateful for the good cheer of doing Halikinu Radio. I think all that laughing around -- and really guffawing -- is good medicine. Also had to run to a interview and a photo shoot at Oakwood then zip to Galleria for a meeting for the OGBD shirts and lastly to NU107. Sorry if I didn't seem ready to lead the show last night. I didn't check my email and only found out like 15 minutes before we went on. Bwahahaha. It's all good though.
