BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Breaking news

A fight marred the friendly match between the Powerade RP Team and Lebanon at the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center. Arwind Santos and Brian Feghali got entangled and the two exchanged shots before cooler heads prevailed.

Because of the slippery floor (due to the rain and moisture), the game was discontinued with Lebanon ahead 48-34.

Incredibly, Smart Gilas RP Coach Rajko Toroman yesterday predicted that some blow up might occur during the match.

Look for San Beda University to join the UAAP by 2011. Ateneo will be hosting that year. University? Yep. They're scheduled to be accorded that status this year. I wrote about this before. And a friend tells me that San Beda Alabang will take their place in the NCAA.

So what happens then is that the original members of the NCAA will all be in the UAAP. Bwahahahaha!
