BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Meet the Beatles, ahhh, the Blue Eagles

The first time I heard people oohhh, ahhh, and scream their heads off for a hoops player in the UAAP was when Vince Hizon was playing for the Blue Eagles. Of course, I remember it somewhat vaguely because that was more than a decade ago. Then it's for this batch of Eagles for how many years running now. On the floor at courtside, the sports shooters and I always grin and laugh. These are pictures from the Blue Eagles' appearance at Trinoma last Sunday (August 31). As George Gervin once said, "What a life!"
