BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Poll Results

The results of the poll regarding which team you think will win this year's NBA championship is as follows:

Phoenix Suns -- 16 votes
Boston Celtics - 10 votes
San Antonio Spurs - 8 votes
Another team - 6 votes
Dallas Mavericks - 5 votes
Chicago Bulls - 4 votes
Detroit Pistons - 1 vote

That the Celtics received such a vote of confidence is incredible when you consider that they have no bench. 1986 this isn't. Most definitely. But who knows? Maybe the leprechauns have decided to move back into the Banknorth Garden.
