Nah, I'm not replacing Ford Arao or Zion Laterre on the team. This was just an outtake of last Thursday's re-shoot of adidas' The Brotherhood campaign. This time the shoot involved the entire teams of the Blue Eagles, Lady Eagles, and Blue Eaglets. Watch out for these cool billboards on campus.
I chatted with a number of them to gauge morale and their thoughts on the season that transpired. Mike Baldos was really excited to be in the line-up, but the joy soon gave way to -- "ganito na lang ba 'to." Meaning not getting much playing time. But he was truly grateful that he was tapped by the coaching staff and played very well against some tough teams. "Kailangan mas mag-improve pa ako," he says.
Chris Sumalinog is still hoping to get a break and contribute. "One break lang," he asks. "Kaya ko naman mag-contribute." You have to like his optimism when it isn't easy sitting at the end of the bench. Everyone's thoughts are on just getting wins and hopefully a championship somewhere. "Sana kasama ako sa team pag nangyari yun," wishes Chris. "At makalaro."
