BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

We won our second annual Post-Premier Cup All-Star Game!


The Media/Tables Officials team defeated the Filoil/Referees/Bouncers/ABS-CBN team for the second time in three years during our annual post Premier Cup basketball game. Jerome Lagunzad hit a triple with five seconds left on the game clock to lift our side to a 84-81 win. The opponent's Bennett Palad missed a triple as time expired. 

Media colleague Cedelf Tupas was the Game's Best Player! Cedelf hit four triples and along with Lagunzad formed our version of the Splash Island Brothers!
