BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Hanoi Diary December 2 with the RP Men's National Football Team

The view from my window at 545am. On the other side they have a better view of the lake.
Sunrise at past 6am. Am an early riser. I tried working in the lobby where there's free internet but there were too many guys smoking. I hope they gag on their cancer sticks. I went back up to my room and got the daily internet.
Breakfast was at 8am sharp. No one can be late without getting levied a fine. Ian Araneta, Reymark Palmes and Joebel Bermejo enjoying some toasted bread and butter.
The rest of the team having breakfast. Some of the coaching staff below: (L-R) Edwin Cabalida, Wally Javier, and Josef Malinay. After breakfast, the team had a 20-minute stretching session at the tennis courts. Lunch is at 12noon. 130pm team meeting then 2pm we're off to My Dinh National Stadium. Go Philippines!
