BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Hyperventilating for blue

Is the Nike Hyperfuse (blue) cool or what? Will be getting some basketball kicks for the first time in years (yes, I've settled for tennis shoes and cross-trainers).

What I like about the Hyperfuse is the seamless and lightweight unibody that leaves none of the creases and wear and tear on the shoe. My knock on Nike shoes is they look real great that sometimes, I'd rather not wear then and instead put them in a museum.

Oh, a pair costs  PhP 5,995.00! So will still check it out before I plunk down some moolah for this.

Here's something about me and kicks from way back in 2007.

  2. I'd better give these a fair try first before settling with another pair of adidas' Pro Model. At first look, it's a pretty great lightweight shoe.
