BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Getting ready for Halikinu Radio Season 6

We had a pre-production meeting last night in Katipunan Avenue for the 6th season of Halikinu Radio. It's a leaner team this year with only myself and Chuck Araneta the holdovers. Evee one of our student production assistants joins us as one of the three regulars. Mhel Garrido will be there when his sked permits. Other than that, we will have a few guest hosts come the season. We're on a new time slot -- 8-9pm Thursdays over NU107 beginning July 8. Aside from the guest hosts, we hope to snag some surprising guests for interviews. There! We're keeping our fingers crossed. If they do accept the invite, it's going to be a doozy.
