BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles make the Fr. Martin II Finals

The Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles salvaged some of their lost pride a day after getting ousted from the FilOil Invitational by pipping the Perpetual Help Altas by 3 points 83-80 when Kirk Long nailed a trey at the buzzer off an inbounds assist by Bacon Austria. The Blue Eagles play the Mapua Cardinals (who knocked off the FEU Tamaraws) on Saturday 1pm at the St. Placid Gym at San Beda College for the Fr. Martin II Cup title.

Cheer for the Blue & White!
