BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The Big Cross-Trainer

So far I've only seen three episodes of Shaq Vs. (Ben Roethlisberger, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, and Albert Pujols) and I've been thoroughly entertained by the series as ludicrous as it may sound (the Big Diesel beating others at their own games). It's funny and entertaining as a show should be. It has that feel of American Gladiator except that there's more heart to it as it has a charity feel to it.

I know that only five episodes have been produced and am not sure if the it's going to continue or not but I had a blast watching the first three episodes.
