That's me talking football with Kale Alvarez. Kale was supposed to go to Ateneo from Claret but something happened on the way to Loyola Heights so he ended up in Diliman with Anto Gonzales and some guy named Ariel where they won and lost a title together.
Kale is the older brother of the Blue Booters, Kurt. He currently plays on the Beach Football National Team.
For the morning match, I wore a Brazil kit.
Had a blast doing the two matches. In Game 2 thanks to the following for dropping by at the broadcast's booth: Theo Jurado of People's Journal, Tata Garcia, Belay Fernando, and Kate Tantuico of the Ateneo Women's Football Team, SeƱor Juan Cutillas -- the longtime coach of the Azkals, Pablito Araneta, Gen-Sec of the PFF, Aly Yap of the Ateneo Sports Shooters, Ernie Nierras of the MLPFA, Kim Smit of the DLSU Men's Team, Bon Bon Estraban and JB Valenzuela who are the coaches of the UST Women's Team as well as former players for the black and gold, former Ateneo courtside reporter Kamae De Jesus, and Pocholo Borromeo of the NCRFA. Man, how much fun would that be had we a third mike for commentating? Yee-haw!
Hans Smit has been a good friend for years now. This is before Game 2 and I've got my back to the camera (I was wearing a Flash shirt -- the DC Comics' character; the shirt had the thunderbolt insignia which I purchased at Jim Hanley's Universe outside the Empire State Building for $20!).
Smit... always quotable but a fun guy to be with. His women's team is actaully the only DLSU team that I root for. Steph Pheasant says that's a huge contradiction to the whole rivalry. Again, sorry Kim. You're cool too but I gotta go with my Blue Booters. Hahahaha. And of course, so that no one misunderstands. I love out Ateneo Women's Football Team too. The La Salle team is just fun to watch and if you like football...

Sun-baked with the victorious UP coaches (with co-analyst Kale Alvarez who played on UP's last title team) and wearing a Riquelme Argentina top. I'm writing something short on the Fighting Maroons. Dating back to the past year, I struck up a friendship first with their former coach Vanni Tolentino then with their new gaffer Frank Muescan who played for Marist and Negros. Of course even with Coach Adolfo Alicante of FEU who we've been chatting with for the past several years, we've jotted down notes that would be great for football.
Thanks to Brosi Gonzales for the pix. This guy is super-talented. You should see his pix. These ones are just like outtake shots but his portfolio is incredible! Brosi went to Ateneo and FEU by the way.
