BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Blueblood

Here's the latest issue of Blueblood magazine. No, I purposely did not write any basketball stuff for this mag. One can only take so much basketball unless it's football. Hahahaha. But I did write the piece on the Blue Babble Battalion. I make it a point to write one story about them every year. You can find this issue of Blueblood in National Bookstore, 7-11, the Ateneo Alumni Office, the Loyola Bookstore etc.

For their next issue, I am writing about Bea Soriano and the Gamboa family -- Jojo (my old ABL teammate, Mike, Kev, and Mark).
