BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

This has got to be an awesome line-up

Kaka has not ruled out a move to the Bernabeu. Just when we thought that the Galactico era was over...

The Los Blancos have adjusted pretty well to Bernd Schuster's system although Barcelona is right on their heels and hitting their stride.

Real has 25 points so far to Barca's 24.

But look at this line-up:
Iker Casillas
Michel Salgado
Pepe
Sergio Ramos
Fabio Cannavaro
Mahamadou Diarra
Raul
Robinho
Arjen Robben
Gabriel Heinze
Ruud Van Nistelrooy
Javier Saviola
Julio Baptista
Gonzalo Higuain
Christoph Metzelder
Wesley Sneijder
Jerzy Dudek

After a draw against Olympiakos in their recent Champions League match, they'll be playing Mallorca this Sunday (November 11) for the first time since wrapping up the league title last season against the Barralets.
