Ateneans in the PBL & PBA & adidas promo on Brew
Ford Arao will be joining Magnolia in the PBL. Congrats, buddy! We're all proud of you.
Zion Laterre along with his wife and my good friend, Karla, will be leaving for Australia after the semester. Zion will tryout for the National Basketball League over there. Best wishes, buddy and we're having lunch or dinner before ya go!
PBA Opening game for the conference will see San Miguel (coached for the moment by Siot Tanquincen since Chot Reyes is on sabbatical) go up against Air21. At the half, the PBA will honor former Blue Eagle and current Red Bull Barako Paolo Bugia for being the only active player to get his MBA while playing pro ball.
It's all part of the PBA's tribute to Ateneo.
If you're all wondering why San Miguel has been getting Ateneo players (they currently have Olsen Racela, Wesley Gonzalez, LA Tenorio, Rico Villanueva, and Larry Fonacier), you'll have to ask me in person next time you see me. Some might say that I'm bashing so I won't be posting stuff like that no more.
Other Ateneans in the PBA right now: Air21 has Gec Chia, JC Intal, and Doug Kramer, Ginebra San Miguel has Macky Escalona, and Red Bull with Rich Alvarez, Paolo Bugia, and Magnum Membrere.
COMING UP
Coming soon... my special report on Business Mirror on the local sneaker wars, the no-holds barred interview with Joe Lipa, an interview with Wesley Gonzalez and Gec Chia.
Stay tuned for the Ford Arao video.
We will be having a cool contest, a joint project between Bleachers' Brew and adidas Philippines where you can win licensed Ateneo apparel and authentic NBA gear (now, I'm hoping we get the Kevin Garnett Boston Celtics jersey as a prize. Hahaha. Sorry Ms. Odette!) since the NBA season is coming up.
And we would like to know if you're interested in buying authentic/licensed Ateneo jerseys like Chris Tiu's or Ford Arao's for Christmas. Drop me an email so if it's overwhelmingly massive then adidas will have it ready. You know my email it's right above in the masthead. So get writing.
