Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Allen Durham is Best Import for the Governors' Cup

The Meralco Bolts' Allen Durham is named Best Import of the Governors' Cup.

The 28-year old from Michigan averaged 29.4 points, 15.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.4 blocks per game at the end of the semifinal round and became the second straight import from Meralco to a Best Import Award after Arinze Onuaku took home the honor last Commissioner's Cup.
