BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Some outstanding performances from Friday, September 2, 2016's NAASCU games

City University of Pasay 6'4" center Jay Solero who finished with 14 points, 18 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 2 blocked shots in a losing effort against the AMA Computer College Titans, 84-76.

Check out these back-to-back buckets by Solero who hails from Pasay City.

Colegio De San Lorenzo Phoenix's Jon Jon Gabriel stands 6'7" and can be ungainly at times, but he has potential. The Pheonix's big man finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 block shots versus 5 turnovers in his team's 82-75 losing effort versus the Rizal Technological University Blue Thunder.
