Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

NU Pep Squad wins the 2016 National Cheerleading Championships

The National University Pep Squad successfully defended its National Cheerleading Championship this afternoon at the MOA Arena. 

In the Co-Ed College Cheer Division, NU scored an impressive 340.5 total points; 23 ahead of first runner-up University of Perpetual Help that finished with 317.5 points. Far Eastern University was second runner-up with a total of 301.5 points.

The NCC title is NU's third overall.
