BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Check out the new Premier League logo

The Premier League has unveiled its new logo sans... "Barclays" the title sponsor that has adorned the logo since the 2007/08 season. The league is now moving away from title sponsorship and making the league stand on its own.

I have to admit that I am going to miss that regal looking lion but the new one  - "a modern take" according to PL Managing Director Richard Masters -- somewhat in a size suited for emoticons/emojis and avatars isn't so bad at all. I like it. Bold move.
