BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Alfafara declines RP team slot; elects to stay with Bagwis

I have just been informed by RP Men's Volleyball National Team Coach Oliver Almadro that UST's Mark Gil Alfafara has declined the invitation to play with the national squad. He will opt to spend his time with Bagwis squad as well as Ultera. 

Right now the RP  Team has Marck Espejo, Ysay Marasigan, Rex Intal, Ish Polvorosa, Romnick Rico, Edward Camposano, Angelo Torres, Brendon Santos, and Angelo Dolor. National University standout Peter Torres signified his intention to join the team soon according to Almadro. Others in the pool include Bonjomar Castel, Rhence Melgar, and Gian Glorioso.
