BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

FIVB recognizes Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas

Please find a screen shoot of the actual document where the FIVB attests to its recognition of LVP as the national sports association for volleyball. I heard the PVF crashed the Philippine Olympic Committee's General Assembly the other day and asked if their case can be placed in the agenda. Furthermore, they brought some of the misguided players form their Amihan and Bagwis squads. That prompted POC Chairman Peping Cojuangco to quip: You are letting the children fight your battles?

Am trying to get my hands on some other documents regarding this matter.

  1. If that is all said and done, It's game over for Eric Dimzon. The man who nearly ruined the Azkals has lost his cause already.

    1. He was also the only (vocal) journalist who wanted to see Gilas crash and burn. I actually respected his opinion on the whole volleyball federation fiasco (to be fair, it is possible the LVP was formed because of some ulterior motive, as the timing is suspect)...until he started asking people to stop supporting the Lady Eagles, simply because Palou is Ateneo's athletics director.
