BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Looking forward to the Natives Apollo shoes!




These kicks are coming to town! Yep, the Natives shoes are going to be available here. When I first saw the Natives Apollo shoe, it reminded me of a hybrid early new millennium Nike Presto and those verdammt Crocs. From a visual standpoint, I like the look of the Natives Apollo shoe. And black is just real cool.

These shoes are supposedly manufactured using cleaner and greener processes so that's a plus for me as I am conscious about environmental concerns. As for the shoe, I also heard that the Natives provide great cushioning and superb ventilation in a light package. So this is something I am looking forward to trying out. Hopefully, they'll not only fit snuggly but they are sturdy as well.
