BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Volleyball player to come back for final season

A volleyball player who sat out the last UAAP season will return to the court for Season 77. The player’s team lost in the finals in an exciting match-up.


The team was hoping to make history but lost in painful fashion. Said the player who will exhaust the last of the allowed playing years come Season 77, “I hope to be able to come back and help the team win the championship.”

    Could you be referring to Michele Gumabao? Or are you referring to a player from the Ateneo men's volleyball team?
