BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The Nike dry-fit shirt first modelled by Alonzo Mourning is still as good 20 years later

It was around 1993 or 1994 when Nike first came out with this dry-fit shirt that was modelled by Alonzo Mourning when he was still with Charlotte. I don't think I have worn anything of this sort since from Nike. Some 20 years later, the shirt is just as good as it was when I first bought it. It's amazing how it's still of top notch quality even years later. They don't make anything this good and that lasts as long today.
