BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006
Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.
Great to know that Kiefer is actively involved in recruitment for the Blue Eagles. But it's revealing that he actually mentions on-cam that money is often involved.
ReplyDeletewere you born yesterday? That was a joke. I thought it was obvious otherwise I wouldn't be laughing Juami was in the studio when that was recorded. It was a joke.
DeleteWhat is revealing is not that money is involved. But that he would say it openly in a BE40 episode (and what he said was something like, "we would like to get recruits who will not ask for too much money)". Didn't get that part about Juami in your reply.
ReplyDeleteYou have taken everything out of context. All ep long he was ribbing Juami about 'money'. It was a joke. Even the recruits thing. Gawd.
DeleteOk, I see if that was the broad context. But that can easily get lost. Yup, the "Juami pass to Chris" thing was obviously a joke. I didn't even notice that part until I watched it again. What I was referring to was what he said about recruitment which was said so straightforwardly. Parang matter of fact lang. It didn't seem like a joke (he was dead serious about getting all the right pieces and beating La Salle).
DeleteThat was obviously a joke as everyone knows that when ateneo recruits, they only offer the diploma as incentive.
