The way Far Eastern University’s Mike
Tolomia, RR Garcia, Terrence Romeo and are playing, it reminds me of that old
Golden State Warriors trio of Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin
that was known then as Run-TMC. In an earlier Tweet, I wondered if they were like the old Detroit Pistons' Isaiah Thomas, Vinnie Johnson and Joe Dumars except those guys were also terrific defenders while FEU's guard corps are noted scorers, hence, the G-State analogy.
So how about we call these guys Run-MRT (Mike,
RR & Terrence)?
In three matches for the 3-0 Tamaraws,
this is what the trio are averaging:
Terrence
Romeo – 21.8 points, 10.0 rebounds,
and 5.3 assists
RR
Garcia – 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds,
and 3.0 assists
Mike
Tolomia – 11.3 points, 5.0 rebounds,
and 2.3 assists
The trio accounts for 60% of their team’s
offense as well as 32 of their 48 team assists. Amazing.
