BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Galacticos on the cover of Four Four Two

If you're a Real Madrid fan, you'll want to try and pick up the issue on the right side. The cover image to the left was published in 2003 so if you want a copy you'll have to try Ebay. The recent Four Four Two issue is no longer on the racks but I am sure you can still find that somewhere. I wasn't a big fan of Spanish football until the Galacticos were put together. I have to admit that a huge reason why I also rooted for Madrid was because of Zinedine Zidane. Followed him from Juventus to Madrid. And of course, Les Bleus.

The British mag pulls out all the stops and reunites the Galacticos getting great stories from everyone from Steve McManaman to David Beckham and of course the four hombres on the cover.

Check it out.
