As
UFL club Global gears up for the AFC President’s Cup, they are looking to add a
few local players (on loan or news signings) to their roster in anticipation of
the cap on foreigners. Participating teams are allowed to list five foreigners
but can only play two in a match.
Currently,
Global has foreigners Izzo El Habbib (Sudan), Ben Starosta (Poland), Yu Hoshide
(Japan), James Gardner (Scotland), Val Kama (Ghana), Angge Tressor Guisso,
Delon Patrick Yao, and Roland Sadia (the last three are from the Ivory Coast)
who are all mainstays in their rotation.
Apparently,
they are looking into loaning Army’s Ed Sacapaño for their AFC President's Cup campaign while making also inquiries about Ateneo’s Nick O’Donnell and Carlo Liay among other players. O’Donnell
and Liay have been tabbed by Kaya in the UFL’s March transfer window.
Global
owner recently tapped Scotsman Brian Reid to take over the UFL champions squad
to prepare them for the AFC President’s Cup. Reid’s baptism of fire into
Philippine club football began with the recent PFF Smart Club National
Championship.
The
2013 AFC President’s Cup will be the ninth staging of the tournament that is
for emerging footballing nations. The group stages for the tournament will take
place from May 2-12. According to sources, there has been a request put forward
for the Philippines to host their group stage in Cebu.
Should
Global advance past the group stages, the final stage will be from September
23-29.

ReplyDeleteThat's wrong as per the regulations (which has been pretty much the same since the competition's inception). You can only register two foreigners and you can use both at the same time.
Here's hoping they get screwed and end up not taking part in the cup! They shouldn't even be in the competition to begin with! In the 2011 UFL Cup, they used Christiaens once (illegally) even though he was contracted to Torhout in Belgium. No proper transfer took place. Pretty much the same happened when they used Juani for the 2012 league which they ended up winning and got a ticket to the Presiden'ts Cup.
They cheated.... hope they get fucked over!!
Hahahahaha! Cheater FC dapat pangalan nila..
DeleteNot sure if Global FC or AFRICAN FC lols!
