Norman Fegidero Jr. denied an
opportunity to coach in the UFL’s Division One following the sudden sale of
Pachanga to Diliman will get a second crack at it. But the former Azkals coach
will have to start all over again – in Division Two this coming league season –
along with some familiar faces.
Fegidero will return to the sidelines
as head coach of Sta. Lucia, the brother team of Stallion. The team will be
composed of some of the best players from Bacolod and Iloilo. Some of his
former wards who once played for him in Pachanga are reported to be lining up
to rejoin him in Sta. Lucia. Fegidero is said to be stepping down as head coach
of West Negros University soon.
As head coach of Pachanga during the
last UFL season, the Red Phoenix made it to the quarterfinals of the cup where
they bowed out to Global. In Division Two league play, they blew away the
opposition with their incredible passing and possession-based game that saw then
hit the back of the net a record 115 times while conceding only eight goals.
Pachanga finished with a 21-1-0 record. The team was looking forward to seeing
how they matched up with the UFL’s best but their players were scattered all
over from Diliman to Air Force to Pasargad and to Loyola.
Try-outs for Sta. Lucia will be held
soon.
Great News! Can't wait for Sta. Lucia to start the raids. XD
