BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Tuesday Sept 11 with Jonah, Nate & RR

For my Journalism class in Ateneo, Jonah Romero and Nate Burkey both of Kaya FC were my guests. They spoke about their career, football, and where they hope to be a few years from now. My students asked questions and took pictures as they are tasked to write a feature article about them. Glad to see they had fun. Instagram photo by Carmela Nery.

In the afternoon, I had a video shoot with FEU's RR Garcia at the Philsports complex. We're doing a series of videos on our Brand Ambassadors (Ateneo's Nico Salva, UST's Jeric Teng, DLSU's Jeron Teng, Adamson's Alex Nuyles, NU's Ray Parks, and Garcia). It should be up late in the week. Hope you like it. With my crew PJ, Arn, and Stu (who used to play for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets).
