BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

A blast from Ateneo's past -- Men's Basketball, Women's Volleyball, Baseball etc

I was looking at some old files in my very first Macbook and I found these old videos that I put together when we were shooting the very first Ateneo Sports calendar way back in 2009. These were meant to promote the calendar using outtakes and some cool music classics like The Lovin' Spoonfuls' "Do you believe in magic?", Hootie and the Blowfish's "Only wanna be with you", and Sly and the Family Stone's "Everyday people." In this video you'll find some of the varsity athletes of the day such as Jai Reyes, Kirk Long and Noy Baclao for the basketball team, a long haired-Bea Pascual for the volleyball team, the three-peat Judo team and more.

Hope you enjoy these vids!
