BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Another Pachanga one hundred

Pachanga beat Forza 3-0 to raise their record to 18-1-0 with three matches left. Their goal total went to an astounding 109 goals scored. Aside from the win that put them two wins away from promotion to Division One is the Red Phoenix’ goal difference of 102! Amazing. And they have not conceded a goal in the whole second round (the 14th clean sheet they’ve kept this season). And striker Freddy Gonzalez scored his 30th goal.
