BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

At the Chelsea Soccer School Philippines press con

One of the two big things I had to do Monday was oversee the Facebook chat and Press Conference for the Chelsea Soccer School. Wish we had more time for the chat as we had allotted only 30 minutes for that. Maybe we can do that again. But the lads enjoyed it. "I think I was trying to write a novel there," quipped James. "But I had fun." And Phil was battling colds and had a shiner to boot (he got one during a collision with Abdollah Golkhah during last Saturday's UFL match between Loyola and Pasargad).

I wrote about the event but sent one out in a press release and the other for Football Philippines. So for Bleachers' Brew, I'm just posting pictures.

Clowning around with my officemates and James Younghusband.
